The property is located close to the Drøbak protection zone for old houses and is an extension of an existing house. The old house was cut off from the wonderful views and afternoon sun to the west, due to its location on the site. By extending to the north and letting the house climb to the higher knolls, one could improve both view and sun-conditions. The hallway connecting the two volumes became one elongated family room with a kitchen and dining area with a panoramic view toward the bay in the south. The adaptation of the old houses is primarily done by breaking the house up into several small volumes. A patio extends along with the entire windowed family room and links the house with this typical coastal landscape.
