The villa is the representation residence for the Norwegian ambassador in Germany and is situated in the outer part of Western Berlin.
When developing the project, it was of great importance that the Norwegian building culture was reflected in the villa. Nature, light, geography and traditional materials are big factors in the project without being nostalgic. Nature and climate are reflected in the need for protecting the residence from the surroundings. Atriums with shielding fences, intimate interior with strong enclosing walls, and galleries outside the rooms. The villa is closed towards the least attractive sites, and as a contrast, the building opens fully towards the atrium at the west. This atrium functions as a protector for the activities set on the property. It is a 1200 m2 large villa containing offices and meeting rooms, as well as the housing for the Norwegian ambassador
