Sal Haaken is an exhibition hall for the art collector Haaken Christensen’s collection, in addition to Henie Onstad Art Centre. The idea of the building is to interpret the connection between art and nature. Views of the park and the harbor nearby are integrated with the hall by the large glass. The landscape and the varying light conditions enhance the art experience. The construction of cross-laminated timber of birch and larch has a potential both ecologically and technically benefits. The wood acts as a moist-stabilator.
