The project Østerås park has an exciting location surrounded by Nordveien, Granåsen, and Eiksveien. The main idea is founded on the principle of turning away from the traffic and turn all common areas towards the light and the sun. The idea was to create a box in the landscape, where three of the sides have a dense simple character, while the west façade, facing towards the light, is given a completely different character which has provided the building its distinctive architectural concept. The entire west facade breaks up from different angles with pointed balconies stretching towards the sun. This creates variety and the pointy characteristic cantilevered balconies give the building its own unique identity. To further emphasize the building’s location with the surrounding roads, the outdoor areas adjacent to the apartments are leveled up. This gives a distance to the surrounding environment – and creates a more private oasis for the residents. We are convinced that we have created a unique and qualitatively residential building that will give the residents many good experiences in the future
