The Fagerborgkvartalet housing complex will be developed by Stein Halvorsen Arkitekter on behalf of Fagerborg K34 AS. The housing complex will be built around an inner atrium. By situating cafes, benches, playgrounds in this space, the atrium will function as a place to gather for both the residents of the complex and Lillestrøm in general. The heights vary from four to eight floors. The lowest part will face towards northeast – to the existing villa area. The highest part that is made up of eight floors will overlook Storgata. All the apartments have their own private balcony no smaller than 6,5m2.
The façade is broken up in a variety of volume leaps and different use of materials such as plaster facade and wood. The inner atrium will be accessible from the street by creating openings in the building. Part of the roofing is planned to be sedum.
