HØNEFOSS CHURCH
Stein Halvorsen arkitekter became the second runner up in this competition.
All the details are well planned and thought through! One of the most major focuses of this construction is to maintain the sound from the organ, singing, and preaching. The roof is constructed the same way as a barn – longitudinal construction. This form of construction is to save the sound from escaping, and the volume of the space will create a feeling of the church room. All the materials used, and furniture chosen are thought to be of positivity for the sound. There will also be installed a digital space acoustic radiation calculation model.
A big glass wall will divide the church from the outside. The glass surface is slanted to diminish possible negative reflection.
